Ombudsmen work to resolve problems of individual residents and to bring about changes at the local, state and national levels to improve care. Ombudsman work is directed by the resident.

The Medication Management Demonstration (MMDP) seeks to reduce medication error rates and improve outcomes in clients who have historically been challenged by managing multiple medications at home.
