Affordable Care Act Supports Community Health Centers and Early Retirees in Illinois
Eight community health centers in Illinois will receive funding from the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Over the next five years, ACA will provide $11 billion in funding for the operation, expansion, and construction of community health centers across the country. This initial installment brought $45 million to healthcare centers in Illinois.

- Henderson County Rural Health Center, Oquawka: $1,061,669
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services approved four State of Illinois applications for participation in the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP). This program, authorized by the Affordable Care Act, helps cover the costs of health benefits for early retirees and their dependents within participating employment-based plans. The following programs are approved:
- Teachers Retirement Insurance Program
- College Insurance Program
- Local Government Health Plan
- State Employees Group Insurance Program
