LT. GOV. QUINN SALUTES STAFF SGT. JACOB L. FRAZIER AT POSTHUMOUS POST OFFICE DEDICATION CEREMONY
ST. CHARLES—Today, Lt. Governor Pat Quinn joined with United States Speaker of the House, the Honorable Dennis J. Hastert (R-IL) and the United States Postal Service to pay tribute to fallen St. Charles Airman, Staff Sgt. Jacob L. Frazier at the Post Office dedication ceremony held in his honor. The Jacob L. Frazier Post Office is one block West of Randall Road on Rt. 64 in St. Charles, Illinois.
Staff Sgt. Frazier's father, Jim Frazier, was in attendance.
Staff Sgt. Frazier was assigned to the Peoria-based 169th Air Support Operations Squadron, 182nd Airlift Wing. On March 29, 2003, Staff Sgt. Frazier was killed in a firefight when his unit was ambushed near Geresk in the Helmand province of Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Frazier was the first Illinois Air Force National
Guardsman killed in action. He was 24 years old.
