Press Release - Wednesday, July 16, 2025

SPRINGFIELD - The Mini Explorer's Club is the Illinois State Museum's newest engaging, musical, and hands-on 45-minute class for young children. This summer program will meet at 9:30 a.m. every Tuesday through Aug. 26 at the museum's Springfield location.

The Mini Explorer's Club aims to creatively introduce all the wonders of Illinois to our youngest citizens. Each Explorer's Club class will teach a new aspect of Illinois history, science or art. Explorers will sing, move and create as they learn all about Illinois' cultural and natural resources.

This program is recommended for kids ages 18 months to 5 years, but all ages are welcome to attend. The club is free to participants and perfect for future historians, scientists, and artists. Call 217-782-6623 for more information or email laura.mitchelle@illinois.gov.
