CMS Statewide Chief Benefits Officer Kari Wolfe Named to SALGBA Board of Directors
Springfield, IL - The Illinois Department of Central Management Services (CMS) is proud to announce Kari Wolfe, Statewide Chief Benefits Officer, has been named to the State and Local Government Benefits Association (SALGBA)'s Board of Directors. SALGBA aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and professional networking, advocate on national public employee benefit issues, promote education through events and certification, and build partnerships with benefits-related organizations.
"Kari's dedication to improving benefits for State employees, retirees, and dependents has been invaluable to CMS and the State of Illinois," said Raven A. DeVaughn, CMS Director. "Her appointment to the SALGBA Board is a reflection of her expertise and her commitment to advancing government benefits administration."
The State of Illinois has been part of SALGBA since 2022, and the State received the association's Entity of the Year award that same year. In 2024, Wolfe was honored with SALGBA's Benefits Manager of the Year award and earned a Certified Government Benefits Administrator (CGBA) designation. As a member of SALGBA's Board of Directors, Wolfe will be tasked with overseeing the association's events, educational opportunities for members, and governance.
"I am excited to be on SALGA's Board of Directors," said Wolfe. "At CMS, we have learned a lot from the information SALGBA has provided during their events, and we have implemented many of those strategies in our procurement process and in our wellness platform."
