COMMODITY ELECTION RESULTS ANNOUNCED

Press Release - Tuesday, July 26, 2022

SPRINGFIELD, IL— The Illinois Department of Agriculture announced winners of the July 7, 2022 state agricultural commodity board elections today. The elections filled positions on three agricultural boards: the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, the Illinois Soybean Program Operating Board and the Sheep and Wool Marketing Board.

These boards oversee the check-off dollars that come from assessments levied at the first point of sale. State law sets assessment for corn at 7/8 of 1 cent per bushel, soybeans at ½ of 1 percent of the market value, and wool at 3 ½ cents per pound.
