Gov. Pritzker Applauds Passage of 'Illinois Works' Legislation

Springfield, Ill. — Governor JB Pritzker released the following statement after the General Assembly passed legislation to strengthen the Illinois Works Jobs Program.
 
"Rebuild Illinois will fix our critical infrastructure, revitalize communities and put hundreds of thousands of people to work - and I was proud to join with the General Assembly to ensure that all people in our state have access to those jobs," said Governor JB Pritzker. "This legislation strengthens the Illinois Works Jobs Program - a pillar of our historic $45 billion capital program - to increase diversity in apprenticeships for construction and the building trades. Illinoisans of all backgrounds built this state into what it is today, and everyone should have an opportunity to build our future. I want to thank Senator Napoleon Harris, Leader Will Davis and the bipartisan effort from members of the General Assembly for their continued hard work, and I look forward to signing this legislation."
