Gov. Pritzker Announces Appointment to Illinois State Medical Disciplinary Board
Building on a strong team of diverse experts in their fields, Governor JB Pritzker announced the following appointments in his administration:
ILLINOIS STATE MEDICAL DISCIPLINARY BOARD
James Montana will serve on the Illinois State Medical Disciplinary Board.* Montana has worked as an attorney for 50 years and currently owns his namesake firm Law Offices of James Montana. Previously, he has worked as a private attorney at Vedder Price, P.C.; Piper, Marbury, Rudnick, and Wolfe; Bally Entertainment Corporation; and Simpson, Thacher and Bartlettt. In addition, Montana has served the public as Chief Legal Counsel to former Governor Jim Edgar while he was Chief Justice and Judge for the Illinois Court of Claims as well as serving an Assistant United States Attorney for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Illinois. Montana is the Past President of the Chicago Inn of Court and previously served a two-year term on the Illinois Medical Disciplinary Board from 2014 to 2016. He has previously served as a member of Chicago Bar Association Board of Managers, Justinian Society of Lawyers, Georgetown University Board of Regents and the Special Olympics Chicago Board of Directors. Montana earned his Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University and Juris Doctor from Northwestern School of Law.
