2018 ILLINOIS STATE FAIR TWILIGHT PARADE RESULTS

Press Release - Friday, August 10, 2018

SPRINGFIELD, IL - The Illinois State Fair kicked off Thursday evening with the Twilight Parade. An array of floats, marching bands, and specialty units were featured encompassing this year's theme, Celebrate Illinois: 200 Years of Amazing!  Like the corndogs, lemon shakeups, and Butter Cow featured on the historic fairgrounds, the Twilight Parade is an Illinois State Fair tradition that has been enjoyed by generations of fairgoers. Fairgoers come as kids, then as adults bring their kids, and then their grandchildren. It is a family affair that could be seen throughout the crowds that gathered to watch this year's parade.

The theme was further reflected in this year's grand marshal selection. The Wiseman family served as the Grand Marshals of the 2018 Illinois State Fair Twilight Parade. The Wisemans are the owners of a recognized Illinois Bicentennial Farm. Their farm in Wabash County was purchased by William Tanquary in August 1818 and has been owned by the family for the past 200 years.
