Public Hearing for IL 47 Improvements in McHenry County
WOODSTOCK - The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) will host a public hearing June 7 regarding the proposed improvements to Illinois 47 from U.S. 14 to Charles Road in McHenry County.
The public hearing will take place at the following date and time:

The general scope of the project includes reconstruction and roadway widening of Illinois 47 to provide two lanes in each direction separated by a median. The proposed improvements also include intersection and drainage work, as well as bicycle and pedestrian accommodations.
The purpose of the hearing is to obtain public input on the preferred alternative and Environmental Assessment (EA). The EA describes the purpose and need of the proposed project, alternatives considered, the recommended preferred alternative, anticipated environmental impacts, project benefits, and potential mitigation measures.
Written comments can be submitted through the project website www.IL47WoodstockStudy.com, or at the following: Woodstock Public Library, Woodstock City Hall, IDOT District 1 at 201 W. Center Court in Schaumburg. Comments submitted by June 21 will be part of the official meeting record.
Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously throughout the evening. Project team members will be present to discuss the project and answer questions. A public forum will begin at 6 p.m., where the public will be invited to make a statement to a court reporter.
