Public Meeting for I-55 at IL 59 Access Project

JOLIET - The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), in partnership with the City of Joliet will be hosting a public meeting Sept. 14 regarding the study for potential improvements in the area near Interstate 55 from I-80 to US 52 in Joliet and Shorewood in Will County.

The purpose of the public meeting is to gather input regarding transportation needs within the study limit and obtain public input.

 

The study will address roadway access, operational deficiencies, safety and congestion. The study limits on Interstate 55 are bounded by Interstate 80 to the south, U.S. 52 to the north, Houbolt Road to the east and River Road to the west, spanning Joliet and Shorewood in Will County.

 

Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. Project team members will be available to discuss the project and to answer questions. Written comments can be submitted at the meeting, mailed afterward or made through the project website, www.i55atil59accessproject.org.
