Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Names Kurt Schierholz as Employee of the Quarter
(Manteno, IL).... Today, The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) announced Mr. Kurt Schierholz as the Employee of the Quarter, for the second quarter. Mr. Schierholz was announced as the Employee of the Quarter during a presentation at the Illinois Veteran's Home in Manteno, Illinois. IDVA Director Erica Jeffries presented him with a certificate announcing him as Employee of the Quarter.
"Kurt is another fine example of type of employees we have working for our veterans," said Director Erica Jeffries. "He is consistent in his work and believes in the IDVA mission of empowering veterans and their families to thrive by assisting them in navigating the system of federal, state and local resources and benefits." Kurt discovered 24 of the Manteno residents, the forgotten warriors of the Korean conflict, were not issuied the Korean War Medal. Because of his research and work with the federal government, the 24 Korean War Veterans were issued their medals with fanfare and family present.
In order to receive this honor, the awardee must be nominated by their fellow coworkers. Nominees are evaluated on the basis of their leadership, dedication, innovation and impact of their work. Mr. Schierholz, along with the 3 other quarterly honorees will be considered for the Employee of the Year award, presented on Veteran's Day at the Illinois State Fair on August 13 of this year.
