IDVA Quincy Veterans Home Hosts Annual Memorial Day Program

(Quincy, IL)...The Illinois Veterans Home at Quincy will conduct its annual Memorial Day Program on Friday, May 26^th at 10:30 a.m. in the Elmore parking lot located at the grounds of the Illinois Veterans Home.

Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Director Erica Jeffries will deliver the keynote address and Ms. Kathy Brink will provide several patriotic musical selections during the program.  The names of 96 veterans who resided at the Home and have passed away since Memorial Day 2016, will be read during a Roll Call of the Honored Dead as a special part of the program.  There will also be a wreath laying in the honor of all veterans who have passed.  The American Legion Post #37 Firing Squad will provide a rifle salute and taps.

The public is invited to attend the approximately one hour program and encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

Following the program, the Home will conduct its annual resident and family picnic for residents and their families.  Over two hundred family members are expected to attend the program and picnic.
