Governor Quinn Statement Saluting WGN-AM Walk of Fame Inductees

CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today issued the following statement saluting “WGN Radio Walk of Fame” inductees:

“This year we celebrate the 90th anniversary of WGN-AM, among the world’s oldest and most acclaimed radio stations. Today I salute the inaugural class of inductees to WGN-AM’s new Walk of Fame.

“It is fitting that these powerhouse personalities will be forever memorialized in the heart of downtown Chicago.

“Inductee Wally Phillips once said the power of radio was ‘the potential to use 50,000 watts to touch lives and make them better’.

“Each of WGN’s Walk of Fame inductees have touched our lives and made us better and on behalf of the people of Illinois we thank you.”
