Governor Quinn Announces $1.4 Million for Construction Project in McHenry County
BULL VALLEY - Governor Pat Quinn today announced an investment of $1.4 million for a construction project in McHenry County. The project is part of Governor Quinn's commitment to creating jobs and driving Illinois' economy forward.
"This project will address critical infrastructure needs in McHenry County, improve safety and increase mobility," Governor Quinn said. "The project will also employ a number of construction workers, which benefits the local economy."
The project will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
Country Club Road in the Village of Bull Valley will be improved from the West Village Limit to the East Nunda Township Limit for $1,446,478 by Arrow Road Construction Company of Mt. Prospect, the lowest of five bidders. The work will include resurfacing, patching, shoulders and pavement markings.
Federal Surface Transportation Program and local funds are financing the project.
"I'm delighted to see the Department of Transportation recognize and prioritize McHenry County's infrastructure needs," State Senator Pam Althoff (R-McHenry) said. "McHenry County experienced tremendous growth in the 1990s and our infrastructure needs haven't caught up with the increased demand that new commercial and residential development require to maintain that very important quality of life component our residents expect."
