Governor Quinn Announces $236,000 for Construction Project in Red Bud
RED BUD – Governor Pat Quinn today announced a capital investment of more than $236,000 for a construction project in Red Bud. The project is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.
“Red Bud residents will soon enjoy the benefits of this shared use path,” Governor Quinn said. “The construction project will also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the local economy as well.”
A ten-foot-wide shared use path will be constructed from Steven Drive to Locust Street in Red Bud, and will include culverts, sidewalks, curb and gutter, and decorative lighting. Lake Contracting, Inc. of Addievville was the lowest of three bidders with a quote of $236,770. The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage the project.
This project is part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
