JACKSONVILLE – Governor Pat Quinn today announced a $265,000 capital investment for a construction project at the Jacksonville Municipal Airport as part of his Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program. The project is part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward. “Investments in airports like this one in Jacksonville make them more efficient and safer while creating construction jobs,” Governor Quinn said. “This Illinois Jobs Now! project will continue to ensure that Illinois has a strong, 21st century infrastructure.”

Crack and joint repair and sealing work will be done on Runway 13/31, Runway 4/22, Taxiway C and the T-Hangar pavement for $265,470 by Illinois Valley Paving, a division of United Contractors Midwest, Inc. of Springfield. The Illinois Department of Transportation, Division of Aeronautics will manage the project, which includes federal and state funding.

"The Jacksonville area is blessed with many modes of transportation, from roads and rail to nearby waterways,” State Rep. C.D.
