Governor Quinn Announces $3.7 Million for Construction Projects in Evanston and Park Ridge
EVANSTON – Governor Pat Quinn today announced capital investments of more than $3.7 million for road construction projects in Evanston and Park Ridge. The projects are part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.
“These construction projects will improve transportation safety and efficiency in northern Cook County,” Governor Quinn said. “Additionally, they will also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the local economy as well.”
The Illinois Department of Transportation will manage both projects.
A bridge in the City of Evanston carrying Bridge Street over the North Shore Channel will be rehabilitated, and related road work will be performed, for $2,367,142. The lowest of two bidders was Illinois Constructors Corporation of Elburn.
Park Ridge will receive road work on Summit Avenue from Prospect Avenue to Ridge Terrace, and on Prospect Avenue from Summit Avenue to Northwest Highway. The work will include resurfacing, new curb and gutter, sidewalk replacement, and other items. The lowest of five bids was from Landmark Contractors, Inc. of Huntley with a quote of $1,405,927.
These projects are part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
