College groups must meet the following criteria:
- A college/university group must originate from a state-accredited public or private institution of higher learning.
- Students must represent an academic class from that college or university for which student receives college credit.
- Tour must be scheduled and led by the class instructor(s).
All groups of 15 or more—regardless of age—must reserve a tour date through the Springfield Convention and Visitor’s Bureau (SCVB). Return the completed Student/Youth Group Reservation Request Form by email or postal mail. You will receive a confirmation by postal mail. Please be advised that the volume of requests for ALPLM tours will affect the processing time.
Groups of fewer than 15 should contact Genevieve Kaplan at Genevieve.Kaplan@illinois.gov at the Museum to schedule a tour.
June through February college/university sponsored groups, including the instructor, will be admitted free of charge. Additional adults accompanying the group will be charged regular admission. In March, April, and May there is a fee of $4 per student. The instructor will be admitted free. Bus drivers accompanying a scheduled college group will also receive complimentary admission. Other adults accompanying the group will be charged regular adult admission.
