Happy Hollow

Located just inside the main gate Happy Hollow returns to the Illinois State Fair with competitions, exotic animal entertainment and shows.

    Free offers and specials throughout the day

    This incredible experience fuses the famous color throws, music entertainment, foam parties, foam obstacle course, inflatables, body marbling and giveaways for friends and family to enjoy every day!

    Color Throws will be hosted every hour with 4 free color throws offered at 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m., and 8:00 p.m. The first 40 participants at the free color throw parties will receive a free color packet. After that, it is $2 for one color packet and entry to the party, and $5 for 3 color packets and entrance to the party. T-shirts will be available for purchase if covering current clothing is preferred.

    Also enjoy free foam, parties at 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. every day by the stage. (Limit to safety capacity)

    idual Pass is $9, All-day Family Pass is $15, Bounce-Back Individual Pass is $4, Bounce Back Family Pass is $7, and Body Marbling is $6.

  • Watershed Park

    Watershed Park

    Daily: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

    Watershed Park is an interactive and educational exhibit on water protection. Approximately one-acre in size, Watershed Park is located on the Illinois State Fairgrounds on the west end of Happy Hollow.

    Come join the fun! Free admission and activities for everyone. Cold water, duck races, stream demonstrations, big fish, scavenger hunt, daily prizes! All Free!

  • Highland games

    Ancient Athletics/St Andrews Society
    Strongman of the Glen Competition

    Demonstration Daily: 5:00 p.m. - 8 p.m.
    Competiton: Saturday August 12 2017: Noon - 6:00 p.m.

    The first 40 registered athletes will be guaranteed, any athletes that register after will be placed on the waiting list.
    Classes: Amateur A,B,C, Women's, Masters (No Novice Class)
    Events: Heavy and Light Weight for Distance, Weight Over Bar, Sheaf Toss, Caber Toss, and Braemar Stone. There may also be a keg toss after competition concludes.
