    Questings

    Accessibility

    Most restrooms and buildings on the fairgrounds are accessible. See the map for marked accessible restrooms and buildings. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, any attendee requiring reasonable accommodation should notify us of their needs when ordering Grandstand tickets. An accessible tram unit is available on the grounds. Motorized wheelchairs are available for rent at the Senior Center inside the Illinois Building. Signers/interpreters are available for information.

    Administrative Offices

    The administration offices are located in the Emmerson Building on Main Street, diagonally across from the Exposition Building. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. during the Fair. Phone: 217/782-6661 MAP

    Bus & Taxi Services

    For bus schedule information, please call 217/522-5531, TDD 217/522-8594. Taxi service will also be available outside the Main Gate. MAP

    Cooling Stations

    The following locations are air conditioned:

    First Aid

    Volunteers from the Illinois Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross operate a First Aid Station in the Emmerson Building Annex. The State Fair First Aid Station volunteers are competent personnel who are trained to respond to victims of injury or sudden illness before the arrival of EMS personnel. The State Fair Red Cross First Aid Station is designed to provide free, immediate, and temporary care for injuries and sudden illnesses The First Aid Station hours are from 8am to 6pm Tuesday and Wednesday, August 9th and 10th and 8am to 10pm all the rest of the days.   MAP

    Information Booths

    Information Booths have been conveniently placed throughout the fairgrounds. Fairgoers can inquire at five locations: near the entrance of the Main Gate, on Main Street at the four-way stop, across from the north end of the Grandstand and at the three-way stop near the Livestock Center, and at the south end of the Pedestrian Tunnel. Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. MAP

    Lost & Found Children’s Center

    The Lost and Found Children’s Center is located south of the Grandstand on Grandstand Avenue. The Illinois State Police broadcasts emergency announcements from their booth on Illinois Avenue and from their headquarters on Grandstand Avenue. The center is open daily during regular Fair hours. MAP

    Police

    The Police Station is located south of the Grandstand on Grandstand Avenue and is open during regular Fair hours. MAP

    Post Office

    The U.S. Postal Service is located in the Exposition Building and offers all regular mailing services. Hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., closed from 12:00 to 1:00 pm for lunch, during the Fair. MAP

    Trams

    Trams operate full tours of the fairgrounds from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
    daily. Two single-unit handicapped accessible tram units
    are also available. Fairgoers may board at any of the following 12 loading areas:

    • Central Avenue (East of First Aid Station)
    • Gate 2/Farmers Little Helper
    • Gate 3 (by Fire Station)
    • Bus Parking Area (Southwest of Gate 6)
    • Goat Barn – northwest of the Grandstand – Southbound only
    • Conservation World - North side
    • Conservation World - South side near Parking Lot 1
    • 4H Lane and 8th Street Road
    • The Arena and 8th Street Road
    • Campgrounds
    • Happy Hollow / Watershed Park
    • Goat Barn – northwest of the Grandstand – Northbound only

    Sky Glide

    The Sky Ride runs from the south end of the Grandstand to the corner of Gate #2. It offers an excellent aerial view of the fairgrounds. The Sky Ride operates from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. MAP

    Wagon/Wheelchair/Scooter Services

    Wagons, wheelchairs and electric scooters will be available to rent daily 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Grandstand Avenue near the Goat Barn. They will be available at the IL Building from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. (Friday-Sunday). Driver’s license will be required for deposit on all rentals. All rentals must be returned to the same rental location to retrieve driver’s license. Rentals must be returned by 12:00 midnight each day. Rental rates: Wagon/Stroller Combo $20; Wheelchairs $15 or $25; Single scooter $60; Double scooter $110; Heavy duty scooter $70. MAP
