    The once-a-year (September 7 – November 2, 2016) State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA) that provides all employees the opportunity to donate to the charitable causes of their choice to enhance the quality of life for all.
    Established in 1983, SECA is a workplace giving campaign that allows State Employees to donate to nearly 2,000 charities at local, state, national, and international levels. State employees have contributed more than $76 million to help improve our environment.

    SECA supports 12 Federations: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, America’s Charities,  Black United Fund, Community Health Charities, Community Shares, EarthShare, Global Impact, Independent Charities of America, Special Olympics, United Negro College Fund and United Way.
    With the help of the Charity Search Engine you will find a concise listing by County of all of the different charities served through your donations to SECA, along with a brief description of the services provided by these individual agencies.
  •  Looking Forward – Giving BackLooking Forward – Giving Back

    The 2016 SECA Pledge Book will give you all the information you will need to make your informed decision. This year we are “Looking Forward and Giving back” and hope you will too. 
    Inside this book you will get an in-depth view of each of the 12 Federations, their visions, their missions and a glimpse into the lives of those who are served through your contributions. Many of the charities also include a breakdown of services or things that your donations, no matter how small they may seem to you, are being used for in order to improve individual lives, communities, and on a global level, our world at large.

  •  Pledge Form

    After you have made your choice of which charity(ies) you want to donate to you will want to fill out a pledge form and send that completed pledge form to your agency contact, also known as the SECA Agency Ambassador/Liaison.

    • You can access your pledge form by selecting the Forms button on the navigation bar above.
    • Print out and complete the form and forward to your SECA Agency Ambassador/Liaison (contact person).
    • Locate the complete list of SECA Agency Ambassadors/Liaisons by selecting the Agency Contacts button on the navigation bar above.
  •  Leadership Giving Circle

    The Leadership Giving Circle recognizes individuals contributing $250 or more to one or more charities in the Illinois State and University Employees Combined Appeal (SECA).

    Individuals giving at the Leadership level serve as strong examples to others and share the desire to help meet critical needs in their community.

    Leadership Giving Circles

    • Bronze - Member ship is achieved by an annual gift or $250 to $499
    • Silver - Membership is achieved by an annual gift or $500 to $999
    • Gold - Membership is achieved by an annual gift over $1,000

100% of your contribution is sent directly to your designated charity(ies).
The 12 “Charitable Federations” collectively represent nearly 2,000 charities
from which to choose from when making your donation.
Participation in the State and University Employees Combined Appeal is important
and any gift is greatly appreciated and helps make a difference.
Support of the SECA campaign demonstrates a willingness
to help a single need or many needs within the community.
