Re: Electronic
Visit Verification (EVV) Program Update and New Resource Center
This notice
informs providers of the status of the use of Electronic Visit Verification
(EVV) for all Medicaid-funded personal care services and home health care,
including the creation of an online Resource Center that will provide ongoing
program updates and helpful information.
In 2016,
Congress passed the 21st Century Cures Act, which requires states to implement
the use of Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) for identified provider
categories.
The Illinois
Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) continues to actively
develop the state's EVV system, and no action by personal care or other
providers will be necessary prior to January 1, 2021 or immediately after.
Beginning in
early 2021, HFS will solicit input and inform applicable providers about
upcoming steps through the use of provider notices, a dedicated online EVV
Resource Center and other communications. The Department is committed to
working with providers, customers and other stakeholders to meet training needs
and implement a quality solution as efficiently as possible.
The EVV Resource Center is now available online, offering detailed information
explaining:
·
Why Illinois is
implementing EVV
·
Which providers
services are impacted
·
Data that EVV
must capture
·
Available
training and other supports
·
Status of
Illinois’ EVV implementation efforts, including a development and
implementation timeline
The Resource
Center will be updated regularly as the program progresses.
