The Disaster Response program is designed for communities experiencing an imminent and urgent threat to public health and safety as indicated by a disaster declaration by the Governor of the State of Illinois. Communities that do not receive a direct allocation of CDBG funds may apply for up to $200,000 for interim assistance reimbursement. If the local government has suffered multiple disasters within a short time period, and/or at the discretion of the Agency Director, grant awards may be increased to no more than $500,000.
