The TRAIL Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment Period for the 2017 plan year will be October 14 - November 15, 2016. Informational seminars will be held statewide to give eligible retirees and survivors an opportunity to learn about the Total Retiree Advantage Illinois (TRAIL) Program. Topics will include eligibility criteria
and an explanation of the benefits provided through the Program.
If you are unable to attend in person, you can view a recording of the October 11, 2016 seminar. A PowerPoint slide presentation is also available.
Retirees and survivors who became eligible for the TRAIL Medicare Advantage Program over the past year (i.e., became eligible for Medicare between October 2, 2015 and October 1, 2016) should have received a letter (printed on yellow paper) in mid-September notifying them of their eligibility and the requirement to enroll or opt out of the coverage during the TRAIL Open Enrollment Period. All newly eligible for TRAIL should receive a TRAIL Open Enrollment packet the first week of October. All currently enrolled members should receive a flyer notifying you of any plan changes.
