  1. CDB

Building a Better Illinois

Previously, the CDB used an antiquated system to choose architects and engineers (A/E) that was inefficient and costly and that unnecessarily delayed construction projects. The CDB deduced that  its A/E selection rules did not need to mandate interviews with every architect and engineer for every project.  Instead, CDB set a standard that contracts which were $250,000 or less would not require a formal interview for the architects or engineers.  This applied to over 90% of the architect and engineer selections, which brought the waiting times down from 6-7 weeks to 3 weeks after the selection committee meets.
