The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library & Museum is now offering two unique walking tours this summer.
The “Abe & Mary: Quite Contrary” walking tour will be returning this summer. “Abe & Mary: Quite Contrary” is a 1.5 mile, 60-minute tour that takes you on a journey through time as we explore beautiful, historic, downtown Springfield.
Along the way, you will hear about the people and places that helped Abraham and Mary's relationship blossom, and on occasion, aspired to wedge them apart.
New in 2016, we are offering a walking tour entitled, “Scholarship meets Showmanship.” This 45-minute tour encompasses the Abraham Lincoln Presidential complex. See and hear firsthand why the creator of the museum, Bob Rogers of BRC Imagination Arts, describes the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as an institution where “Scholarship meets Showmanship.”
“Abe & Mary: Quite Contrary” will run every Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. from June through August. “Scholarship meets Showmanship” will run every 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month from June through October at 10:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Tours are free; however, reservations are required. You can make your reservations now at PresidentLincoln.Illinois.gov. Both tours start and end at the information desk inside the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Museum. Museum admission is not required for either tour.
