    Governor Urges Lawmakers to Pass Lasting Property Tax Relief

    ORLAND PARK, IL - Governor Rauner and Orland Park Mayor Keith Pekau joined homeowners Ken and Andi Borucke to urge the General Assembly to pass true, lasting property tax relief.

    "Illinois home and business owners pay the highest property taxes in the nation. The median average for property taxes in Illinois is $3,995 compared to $1,085 average property taxes in Indiana," said Governor Rauner. "We can't just keep sticking it to the taxpayers without any real property tax relief."​

    Governor Introduces New Intersect Illinois CEO

    CHICAGO - Governor Bruce Rauner announced Intersect Illinois has hired a new CEO to continue to build on its successful inaugural year. Mark S. Peterson comes to Illinois from the Greater Rochester Enterprise in upstate New York.

    "In just one year, Intersect Illinois has secured the commitment of 11,000 new jobs to Illinois, and Mark will help take that to the next level," Governor Rauner said. "Mark has a proven track record of creating jobs and helping existing companies expand. We're excited to see him build on the incredible foundation Intersect Illinois has built over the past year."​

    Governor Rauner Surprises Second Graders

    OLNEY, IL – Unable to visit Mrs. Hardy’s second grade classroom at Richland County Elementary school before the end of classes this week, Governor Bruce Rauner paid a visit to the class through Skype on Monday – and surprised the students by offering to host a pizza party with them in the coming weeks.

    The class this spring was named a finalist in the Governor’s #GovClassroom Visit contest, which highlighted innovative ways Illinois students are learning.​

    Governor Welcomes Keidanren Delegation To Illinois

    CHICAGO – As part of a brief investment tour of the USA, Keidanren, the Japan Business Federation, visited Illinois on May 14-15, to tour the area’s innovation ecosystems and meet with members of the Chicagoland business community. Governor Bruce Rauner hosted the delegation, along with business leaders, at an Executive Breakfast on May 15th at the Metropolitan Club.

    "llinois shares a vibrant partnership with Japan that is stronger than ever with more than 630 Japanese companies employing more than 44,000 Illinoisans," Governor Rauner said.​
