    CHICAGO – Governor Bruce Rauner released an open letter to school districts and higher learning institutions on opportunities to address acts of discrimination and bigotry in academic environments. The letter, sent through the Illinois Department of Human Rights, urges educational institutions to develop proactive strategies aimed at preventing acts of hate before they occur.

    SPRINGFIELD, IL – Governor Bruce Rauner hosted a Facebook Live to connect with students across Illinois for an interactive, virtual school visit. Students from nearby Riverton also joined the Governor at the Capitol.

    "By far, my favorite thing to do as governor is visit with students and teachers across the State of Illinois," Governor Rauner said. "Thanks to technology and social media, we were able to connect with more classrooms than ever before."

    SPRINGFIELD, IL – The Rauner Administration this week filed a motion to deny employees hired illegally by the previous administration the protection of a collective bargaining agreement.

    The motion continues the Rauner Administration’s commitment to reforming the patronage mess it inherited.
