  Content Customization - Section Page Skip to Section Links

What is a section:

A section is the term that we use to describe the first level pages of the site. Links form the left navigation panel on the Entity main page and link to certain sections of the site. For example The EPA web site could be divided into four main sections. The sections would include Air, Land, Water, and Offices. These would be the four main sections of the site and would provide access to all other areas of the EPA site.

The section page content is very similar to the main page in that it will include modules associated with a particular section. In general though fewer modules should be used. More though should be put into introducing the section through a welcome/ information message. Additionally, certain features about that particular section should be highlighted.

Where to place the code:

Within the entityx.htm template is an area designated for content. This area will be designated by code comments defining the beginning and end of the content area. An initial title bar is provided with the entityx.htm file. The code that generates the divider is highlighted in green text. This code can be copied to create additional title bars as needed. The code   features   will change for every title bar in order to display the correct title. The Place Content Here area is where you will place any other content or modules that pertain to the main page.

</td>
<td align="left" valign="top" class="tmpl_tabbackgroundcolor" height="16"><img src="images/bd_tabtriangle_section.gif" width="16" height="16" alt=""></td>
</tr>

Content Area Modules:

The section content should be divided into certain modular areas that reflect information you wish to deliver about your site and entity. Here are a two recommendations based on the Learning Section for the State of Illinois. You don't have to use the modules listed below as they are just an example. Please use modules that pertain to your entity. If you have any questions about generating the title bars for modules they can be found in the Graphical Customization help area.

Welcome:

This section provides information that explains the current section and what information can be found within that section It also may provide a glimpse of what can be found in various subsections of that section. Shown below is an example of the learning welcome area.

Features:

This area can be used to highlight certain featured services that are associated with that section. Shown below is an example of the learning Features area.

Putting it all together:

Once you decide on which modules that you want to use you need to put them together in a logical and aesthetically pleasing manner. Again, these modules are just suggestions. They may not all pertain to your entity. If you use a different module than the ones listed use descriptive names in the title bars. Shown below is what the content area of a section page may look like.
