Main Page Template Components

Main page *code contains commenting to assist you

1. Header
   The header contains four images (hd_montage_section.jpg, hd_title_section.gif, hd_url_section.gif, hd_tabtriangle_section.gif) as well as two styles (tmpl_tabbackgroundcolor, tmpl_headerbackgroundcolor) that you must customize for your specific entity.

2. Left Column - Nav.
   The left navigation column contains navigation for your entity as well as for the main sections of the State of Illinois Site. The entity navigation set will contain the links to the main sections of your entity site.

3. Right Column - Features
   On the main page the right navigation column should contain a State Features area and an Entity Features area. *At this time we are not providing State Features so you can omit this area. We are working out the best method to implement a state wide 'State Features' area.
   
   • State Features
     *Information in this area will be directly controlled by the ITO on behalf of the Governor and will include content such as on homeland security issues. Because this area on all entity sites will be under the control of the ITO time sensative information of interest to all citizens can be published to 1000's of pages simultaneously.
     
   • Entity Features
     Features can be text, graphics, or a combinationand should highlight services that pertain to your entity.

4. Content Area
   The content area on the main page should contain certain modular areas that provide information about your entity and the site. Modules can include things such as News, Welcome, Facts, Did You Know You Can?, Featured Services, and Current Focus... You can take a look at the State of Illinois Main page to see examples of these modules.

5. Footer
   The footer should contain Copyright info, your privacy info, Kids Privacy info, Web accessibility info and contact info. Kids Privacy should link to http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/edcams/kidzprivacy/kidz.htm The Web accessibility should link to http://www.illinois.gov/iwas/
