Each
year, the American Red Cross
responds immediately to more than 67,000 disasters, including house
or apartment fires (the majority of disaster responses), hurricanes,
floods, earthquakes, tornadoes, hazardous materials spills, transportation
accidents, explosions, and other natural and man-made disasters.

Every
day Illinois' citizens face natural, technological, chemical and
manmade hazards that can produce situations that become disasters.
Even though the probability of you or your family being injured
or killed in a disaster is very low, it is extremely probable that
its effects will impact your lives. Visit the IEMA
Website for more information.
