Statewide TV spot Created by College Students


A TV spot created by two Eastern Illinois University (EIU) students is airing on stations throughout Illinois after the spot took top honors in the "Ready Illinois College Challenge." The contest, sponsored by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA), challenged students at Illinois colleges to create and produce a 30-second TV spot promoting earthquake awareness and the state’s Ready Illinois website.

Statewide TV spot Created by High School Student


Illinois' campaign to encourage people to be prepared for disasters has a new TV spot thanks to the creative efforts of a high school junior from Springfield. Lanphier High School student Brittny Barger submitted the winning entry in the "Ready Illinois High School Challenge" contest, and her script has already been produced as a 30-second TV spot.

The contest was sponsored by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and the Illinois Terrorism Task Force (ITTF), in cooperation with the Illinois Broadcasters Association (IBA).

Provided by the DuPage County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, this Public Service Announcement (PSA) focuses on the fact that tornadoes can occur in urban areas, such as Chicago and the surrounding area.
