CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today joined Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at the Chicagoland Chamber’s Annual Meeting to announce a major public-private partnership between Microsoft and the State of Illinois to provide free technology training for up to 51,000 Illinoisans, starting July 31.

CHICAGO – In an effort to improve service for thousands of people collecting unemployment insurance, the Illinois Department of Employment Security launched a new way for claimants to certify that they are out of work and eligible for benefits. The new Internet Certification feature is the latest customer-service effort to streamline operations and make it easier to interact with the department, officials said Thursday.
