Welcome to the Illinois Federal Clearinghouse website
Created in 1999, the Clearinghouse has become a key part of our efforts to make sure that Illinois receives its
fair share of federal funds. Thus far, our efforts have started to pay off for the taxpayers of Illinois.
The Illinois Commission on Intergovernmental Cooperation reports that for the second year in a row, there has
been a significant improvement in the amount of federal funds allotted to state agencies. In Fiscal Year 2001,
we expect federal allocations to surpass the $10 billion mark — a 16 percent improvement in just two years.
Making accurate and timely information on federal grant and procurement opportunities available for government
and business leaders and non-profit organizations is the most important function of the website.
The Clearinghouse also contains information on grant officers in federal agencies, listings of state agency
staff responsible for federal grants, research and tracking information on the flow of federal funds to Illinois,
federal job opportunities in Illinois, as well as links to private foundation assistance and information on state
grants.
Illinois will continue to work with our congressional delegation, local governments and
private sector partners to maximize use of the Clearinghouse and to make sure that Illinois receives its fair
share of federal dollars.
