OF PUBLIC FORUM***
Every year each chief
procurement officer is required to review the progress of State agencies under
his or her jurisdiction in meeting goals for contracting with veteran and
service disabled veteran owned businesses.
The chief procurement officers seek input from statewide veterans’
service organizations and from the business community, including businesses
owned by qualified veterans, and will make recommendations to be included in
the Department of Central Management Services’ report to the General Assembly
regarding continuation, increases, or decreases of the percentage goal. The recommendations will be based upon the
number of businesses that are owned by qualified veterans and on the continued
need to encourage and promote businesses owned by qualified veterans.
A public forum is
schedule for August 19, 2014 from 1:30
to 3:00 pm for the chief procurement officers to receive input from vendors
and constituent groups. The forum will
take place at the Stratton Office
Building, 401 S. Spring Street, Room 349C, Springfield, IL 62706, and at
the James R. Thompson Center, 100 W.
Randolph, Room 2-025, Chicago, IL 60601.
