Technology partnership announced in Macoupin and Montgomery Counties
Business, Economic Development and Community Leaders Celebrate Vince Demuzio Broadband Initiative
LITCHFIELD – September 19, 2009. Governor Pat Quinn today announced a first-of-its-kind public-private partnership between the State of Illinois, local governments, Norlight Telecommunications, Motorola, and Royell Communications that will bring high-speed, affordable broadband Internet service to the counties of Macoupin and Montgomery. As part of the Vince Demuzio Broadband Initiative, underserved rural communities will have the access they need to stimulate economic development, job growth, and increased competitiveness for the state.

Elevate America to provide free technology training for up to 51,000 Illinoisans
CHICAGO – Governor Pat Quinn today joined Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer at the Chicagoland Chamber’s Annual Meeting to announce a major public-private partnership between Microsoft and the State of Illinois to provide free technology training for up to 51,000 Illinoisans, starting July 31.
